Evaluation

Evaluation  The day finally came where we done our performance i thought that it actually went really well, in the beginning I thought that the audience would find it really hard to understand or keep up with what we were doing. But after the show because my mum came to watch I asked her if she understood the performance and the whole concept of it, and she said she did and she even realized that we mainly focused on the nightmares rather than the nice dreams.  Just like every performance we did do a run through in the morning where we realised we missed out some key things, like at one point we were all sitting down or standing up, so we had to decide before the show what we were doing just so we have some contrast and levels in everyone's movement. At first we were going to have the parents watch us doing yoga as we wait for the other performers to come from their site specific however we realised that if we do that it would break the setting and the calm atmosphere we wer

My favorite moments from rehearsals

Favorite Moments: When they were fighting for the light The sexual intense bit between Zach and Keiyen  The 'help me mummy' outside the circle was interesting and it added dynamics , while also creating a narrative Sophie-Anne's monologue  The flock of birds when we worked as a company  When Dan went into the middle of the circle and started looking at the toys like he was looking for his lost childhood When Fergal was playing music and we were all responding to it  Giving light a meaning - using the light to link to Yoko Ono's light tower Cleaning up- we done what was needed When Karis got lifted up Dan was strangling someone people tried to help Seeing the empty space -we need to see the empty space as wells as the actors - for the audience it will be unusual and interesting The shadows that the light created brought back nightmares of monsters The different music we used was very effective

Theatre Workshop -29/01/18

Image
Theatre Workshop -29/01/18 We began the day by returning to the 'shoal of fish' exercise and working in unison as a team, but this time when we were playing with the pillows we were improvising movements with the idea of sleep and a sleepless night filled with nightmares and uneasiness. During this exercise the song 'How do you sleep' by LCD sound system was playing to help us surrender ourselves and be fully committed to the action we doing. When the music started speeding up the entire company started creating really violent movements together like hitting the floors with our pillows and screaming. I personally found it intriguing how our subconscious and dreams are mainly linked with violence and fear, but i also felt like this exercise showed the vulnerable side of everyone in the class as we allowed our weaknesses to be shown. This violent movement allowed me to see that every single person has a violent side to them whether they display or not. In the exercise

Theatre workshop- 22/01/18

Image
Theatre Workshop- 22/01/18 W started off the day by going back to the misorgi exercise but in a simpler and quicker way but yet it was still as effective as when your doing the full thing, i believe that this is because we were really feeling it and even though it was shorter we were still dedicated to the exercise, therefore allowing our minds to be cleared and leave us feeling refreshed and ready to create Theatre. After cleansing ourselves and the area around us we all grabbed a pillow and lied around in a scattered way. We were instructed to make/imagine the pillows as something else and play with that idea, I envisioned my pillow to be a teddy bear from my childhood this idea helped me make certain decisions with my pillow for example, i would be very close to it and i sort of felt very attached to it and i wouldn't want to let it go. Slowly we came together and started copying each other's moves that we found interesting, while also responding to the music being pla
