My favorite moments from rehearsals

Favorite Moments:

  • When they were fighting for the light
  • The sexual intense bit between Zach and Keiyen 
  • The 'help me mummy' outside the circle was interesting and it added dynamics , while also creating a narrative
  • Sophie-Anne's monologue 
  • The flock of birds when we worked as a company 
  • When Dan went into the middle of the circle and started looking at the toys like he was looking for his lost childhood
  • When Fergal was playing music and we were all responding to it 
  • Giving light a meaning - using the light to link to Yoko Ono's light tower
  • Cleaning up- we done what was needed
  • When Karis got lifted up
  • Dan was strangling someone people tried to help
  • Seeing the empty space -we need to see the empty space as wells as the actors - for the audience it will be unusual and interesting
  • The shadows that the light created brought back nightmares of monsters
  • The different music we used was very effective

Workshop lesson- 16/01/18 As usual to start the day and get ready to play with ideas we went through the Misorgi exercise (cleaned the 9 holes and our performance space). After doing this cleansing i felt so much more refreshed mentally and physically I began to understand that there is so much more meaning to our physical beings and that sometimes we take our body parts for granted, doing Misorgi everyday before we start to perform just makes me more excited and fresh to think creatively. After we got into pairs to start thinking of our site specific piece, and the art we previously found at the Tate Modern, and how those specific pieces can be used to devise a performance that is based on a site. We then moved onto a more practical task where we were split into two groups and using only bodies we were told to create some sort of sculpture where your face and eyes were hidden, so it allows the audience/viewers to try and make eye contact with you but they had to work for it. Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono  Yoko Uno i s a Japanese  multimedia artist ,  singer ,  songwriter , and  peace activist  who is also known for her work in  performance art  and  film making.  Yoko Uno was born February 18th 1933 in Tokyo, Japan and  studied at  Gakushuin and spent several years there butt after two years years she left for New York City in 1953 to be with her family,  She spent some time at  Sarah Lawrence College.  In 1966 she first met John Lennon when he visited a  preview of her exhibition at a gallery in London, Lennon really enjoyed her work  The two began an affair approximately 18 months later. Lennon divorced his first wife, Cynthia who he had a son with,  Julian , born in 1963.  In 1968 they officially became a couple and their wedding followed in March 1969. They had many collaborations on art, film and musical projects they  became famous for their series of "conceptual events" to promote world peace, including the "bed-in" held in an Amste

Brian Eno, David Bowie and The Oblique Strategy

Brian Eno  Brian Peter George Eno was born 15th may 1948, he is an English musician, composer, record producer, singer and writer. Best known for his pioneering work in ambient music and contributions to rock and pop. He has helped introduce a variety of unique conceptual approaches to contemporary music, and has been described as one of popular musics most influential and innovative figures. He attended the Art School Ipswich Civic College and studied  painting and experimental music in the mid 1960s. Brian Eno joined a glam rock group called Roxy music, but in 1971 after recording two albums he left to record solo albums (another green world) and took part in frequent collaborations.
